Strong and Simple

Great plan, easy to follow and nice results. Just what we wanted for our cottage bed.

Only comment would be that there is a slight oddity in the plan - the diagrams and the cut list have a 1/2 inch difference on the plank lenghs. The extra half inch is needed to fit the mattress properly, but just a bit confusing.

That was a fun project to make. I will say measure your bed our bed was smaller length wise then the prints. But it will be an easy fix.
I have almost no wood working experience and this was really easy to follow. I would recommend it, we got common fir wood and it came out to about $130 in wood. Then took us about 4 days after work to complete.

Easy to follow.

Project turned out great.

Not quite. I should have made my own.

There was a few issues. First being the pocket holes on the side accents work, but they definitely do not handle movement well. I looked up material sciences and I do not trust that to hold 2 people and a mattered. I had to modify.

Speaking of modify I had to make wood to go over the slats because my bed ebded up being 57inches showing the slats. So I cut wood to hide them.

Screwing on the slats seems like a wasted effort if I use bed hinges to take it apart, so I used Velcro.

I think the design could have been a lot cheaper and a lot stronger without those accents in front and back. Also… why 2 1/2 inch screws? And so many of them. There’s just cheaper and or stronger ways of doing this.

All and all… with the modifications I did I should have just made my own plans.

Ps. It’s also a little high. I wish I knew that I would have taken 3 inches off the legs. Might have to take it all apart to do that.

Just What I was Looking For

Queen plans came out perfect. Bed frame hardware came in 4 counts so I added another middle support to use them all. Very solid, no creaking or movement.
